Meet the founder
Dr Tayla Hammond BSc (Hons) MSc PhD is a recognised voice in animal welfare, known for her strategic thinking, collaborative approach, and specialist insight into underrepresented species. She currently serves on the Science Committee of the Humanimal Trust and is a member of the Animal Welfare Research Network (AWRN), contributing to cross-sector thinking on One Welfare and applied science communication. Tayla’s experience spans research, assurance, advocacy, and education - including impactful work for RSPCA Assured, OneKind, Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare, and other national charities. She holds a PhD in animal behaviour and welfare from the University of Edinburgh, where she continues to contribute to teaching.
Her work is grounded in rigorous science and driven by a passion for practical, values-led change.
